Submission Guidelines: Your story should be original, not previously published elsewhere, between 500 and 1,200 words** and include extensive details of the experience: tell us how you prepared for their stay; how long they stayed; what thrilled you or frustrated you about their visit? Were there any problems or dilemmas that you encountered with them? If so, how did you resolve them? What compromises did you make during their visit? Be sure to cite the humorous, happy times as well as the sometimes or often cumbersome cooperation between Hosts and Houseguests.
We ask you to please change the names of your guests and other personal information, but you must use your name for your byline. Please note that we will not accept stories with profanity or those that have not been checked for correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Tell a good story! Make it sparkle! Touch the readers’ souls, warm their hearts, inspire and teach them, make them laugh. Help them to feel more connected, passionate, confident and happy to discover simple ways to create an atmosphere of love and tranquility in their homes and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with their loved ones and close friends.
